October 12 speaker: Janice Averill. Building your color theory muscles: Enter the mysterious world of color. Guild member Janice Averill hopes to remove the mystery of understanding color as she has done and continues to do for herself. She didn’t have a natural understanding of color theory when she came to quilting, therefore she’s made some common mistakes. She believes that most of her mistakes involved not having enough contrast or a “pop” among the fabric palettes used. She’s come to think of having an eye for color and contrast as a muscle that needs to grow and develop. She came to rely on a number of products and tricks to compensate for what she considers a lack of natural ability and increase her use of color theory. In this talk she will share these discoveries and help us strengthen our color theory eye.
