First meeting of 2017/2018 quilting year!

Meeting / Lecture

Workshop

September 18, 2017

There is no speaker for the first meeting of the year.

Instead, there will be a "super show-and-tell" with no limit to the number of quilts you can bring to share with the guild.

The Summer Challenge quilts will be on display.  These are the quilts that members have created, having been inspired or led to creation by the 2016/2017 tips and techniques sessions that followed the general meetings.

There will also be a business meeting to kick off the new year.  The president and board members have much to share with everyone.  And, of course, there will be discussion of the upcoming work in preparing for the 2018 Spring Shower of Quilts in April.

Students will learn how to use Texture magic in creating 3D stonework, true raw edge appliqué, and will learn 3 different techniques for finishing the edges of the card.

The morning project will be "The Cottage".  Your materials fee will be a complete kit to finish The Cottage fabric post card.  It includes the pattern, fabrics, stabilizer, batting, backing, and a glue stick and pen.  It will also include a coupon towards your choice of an additional fabric postcard kit for assembly in the afternoon.
