Carol Ann Waugh Lecture - How Did I Get Here From There?

From a career in business consulting to full time studio fiber artist, Carol will talk about her 7 year journey and share some lessons learned from moving from a left brain to right brain life. Besides showing the progression of her work from traditional to art quilts, Carol will also talk about being a professional artist and give you ideas about applying specific marketing and business tools that can help you achieve your own short and long term artistic goals.

From Carol's bio on her website:

"Unique” is a description often overused in the art world, but in my case, the motivation to be stretching toward new and original outcomes is always an underlying factor in my work. The compulsion to be different began more than 30 years ago when I tackled my first quilt, and immediately realized traditional patterns were not going to work for me, so I created my own. Those early days of learning to work with fabric have given way to experimentation and curiosity that always seems to be the driving force behind my art.
. . . . . . . . . . . For me it is a great day, when I am in my studio, sharing new inspirations with visitors or seeing the efforts of my imagination take unexpected and unique forms right in front of my eyes. When I see another way to stretch the definition of fiber art, that’s when I feel excited about what I am doing.
